Irish weekend at Potters Leisure Holiday Resort, Hopton on Sea

Ann Carmody invited me to appear in a themed Irish weekend at Potters Leisure Holiday Resort, Hopton on Sea, near Great Yarmouth. I enjoyed the quality of the event and the great company.
I'm really looking forward to returning in September.

My online CV

Joseph Keegan
Irish showdancer

Joseph was born in February 1997 in Bolton, and since the age of three has been fascinated with the dancing of his hero Michael Flatley. He was captivated by Riverdance and Lord of the Dance videos which he watched over and over again. At the age of six he attended Pat Gallagher's school of Irish Dancing at the Apple Dance studios in Leigh, Lancashire for formal Irish dancing lessons every week.

At his first Irish dancing competition (Feis), he was awarded the most promising young dance trophy. Later that day, and every year since, he has entertained guests at the Belsfield Hotel at Windermere.

His solo show dancing is based on emulating the style of Micro Flatley. Joseph has entered many dancing competitions and win medals, trophies and most promising dancer prizes throughout the north of England. He has continued to lean to dance even after the sad death of his teacher under the guidance of Lisa Riley from Yorkshire. Show dancing encouragement came from Matt Hogan, Stephen Walker and Joel Hanna who has danced with Michael Flatley in his shows.

At Bolton School, he had been encouraged to give solo performances for his Irish show dancing, singing and playing flute. He also plays the guitar and piano, and composes his own songs. He won 'Young Composer of the Year 2010' and 'Young Musician of the Year 2011' at school. Joseph enjoys salsa and ballroom dancing. His favourite sports are football, table tennis and trampolining. He has continued to present his show dancing in many hotels, restaurants and clubs for weddings, private parties, Irish events and as a guest artist in variety, charity shows and at dancing championships. The Mayors of Wigan and Burnley invited Joseph to appear in their charity concerts and fundraising events.

'Cherish the Ladies', an American Irish international band, allowed Joseph to dance with them at the Marine Hall, Fleetwood, for a New Year's Day BBC radio broadcast and Martin Branigan and friends featured Joseph at the Thwaites Theatre, Blackburn, for St. Patrick's celebrations in 2006. Preston Guild concert secretaries gave Joseph many local bookings after his showcase debut in Morecambe and Nicola Dixon at BBC Radio Lancashire invited Joseph to sing and dance for BBC Children in Need.

Sonia, a 1980s female superstar, gave Joseph a spot in her summer Charity Show in 2007. He was a finalist in Granada TV's Tour of Talent competition in Blackpool in July 2007 and auditioned for ITV's Britain's Got Talent.

Joseph is a North West Regional Champion and a four-time World Irish Dancing Championships qualifier.

In July 2009, Joseph entertained at an international trade fair, festival and fashion show in Zambia in Africa. Joseph won a showcase in November 2009 to attend a school of choreography on Broadway in New York. Joseph qualified for the 2010 World Irish Dancing championships at the British Nationals.

Micro Flattery is his stage name. See him on YouTube or his website:

Joseph realised his ambition to meet Michael Flatley and would like to perform again on television and become a professional entertainer with his own shows.

Finalist - Tour of Talent

I'm pleased to announce that I entered the auditions for the Paul Croneys ITV Granada 'Tour of Talent' in Blackpool.

I received a phone call from the producer at 4pm inviting me to the final. The best news I have had in years and so exciting. I gave it my best in the limited seconds I was allocated and came runner up. I hope to do better next year in 'Britain's Got Talent'.
